Knight was founded by Adam Zoldan and Paul Billingham in December 2008 with the specific aim of advising businesses and entrepreneurs in the telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) sector.
Both founders have spent long periods of their careers in senior commercial and operational roles in the sector and therefore have a unique level of experience for a corporate finance business.
Formerly Commercial Director of Opal Telecom Limited, the B2B fixed line operation of the Carphone Warehouse Group plc (now known as Talk Talk Business), where his role encompassed M&A and Commercial Finance. With over 20 years experience in the TMT sector Paul has worked for a number of channel focused, high growth and market leading companies that have realised £millions in value to shareholders. During this time, Paul completed multiple company acquisitions and business disposals and also took Non-Executive Directorships in smaller TMT businesses.
20 years experience in the telecoms and technology sector. He was formerly a shareholder and Managing Director of V Networks Limited which was acquired by Opal Telecom in September 2008. Prior to this he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance as lead advisor for telecommunication transactions. During this time he sold companies including Via.Networks, PSInet Europe, Tele2 and Cable Telecom and advised some of the UK’s leading carriers including Thus, NTL, and Orange.
Sam Davies has worked in the corporate finance and investment sector since 2010 as both an advisor for Clearwater and an investor for the Business Growth Fund. Prior to joining Knight Sam worked in an operational role for CorpAcq. Sam has completed deals across a range of TMT sectors but has a passion for the creative industries, media, software and technology enabled consumer businesses. When not doing deals he loves to go out rock climbing and mountain biking.
Tom Jones qualified as a chartered accountant in 2013, working on a number of private equity and debt funded business across a variety of industries. He previously worked in Transaction Services for Grant Thornton, providing financial due diligence, fundraising support and commercial advice for clients and working on a range of corporate, private equity and public transactions. Tom is also a keen runner and Guinness World Record holder.
