Paul is co-founder and Director of Knight with Adam, who have together established Knight as a market leading corporate finance boutique focused on telecoms and technology. Paul leads transactions from preparation through to completion. Prior to co-founding Knight he was Commercial Director at Talk Talk Business and has held various operational and finance roles in the telecoms industry at Martin Dawes Telecommunications, Opal Telecom and Talk Talk. Paul is also a Director of Knight R&D, a R&D tax relief consultancy, and Advisory Board member of fund:tmt, a small TMT investment fund.
Adam is a founder and Director of Knight, developing the business alongside Paul from inception to a market leading corporate finance boutique, and personally leads transactions from preparation through to completion. Prior to this he had over 15 years experience in the telecoms and technology sector. He was a founder shareholder of V Networks a reseller which was acquired by Opal Telecom in September 2008 and prior to this he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance as lead advisor for telecommunication transactions. Adam is also a Director of Knight R&D, a R&D tax relief consultancy, and Advisory Board member of fund:tmt, a small TMT investment fund.
Tom joined Knight in 2015 and leads our execution team. During this time he has completed over 40 transactions with the team, working on trade sales, debt and equity fund-raising, working with owner managers to maximise their equity value. Leveraging his previous role as a buy-side due diligence provider to help clients prepare for and execute the due diligence phase of a project, Tom manages our Vendor Assist proposition.
Joining Knight in 2017, Ajay and is responsible for identifying and developing new business through meeting business owners and management teams to understand their longer term ambitions. Ajay also looks after our marketing and PR activities. Prior to Knight, Ajay managed international bids and proposals for ACC Liverpool.
David is a chartered accountant and joined Knight in October 2017, having previously worked at a large accountancy firm. Since joining David has worked on a number of transactions in the IT and telecoms sector – his role is to be the day-to-day contact throughout a project, working with entrepreneurs to prepare their business for marketing and to manage the due diligence process. In his time at Knight he has also developed a specialism in building financial models & forecasts.
Dom is a member of the execution team; his role is to provide in-depth financial review and analysis and is the day-to-day contact during a project, working with entrepreneurs to prepare their business for marketing and to manage the due diligence process. Since joining Knight Dom has worked on a number of transactions in the IT and telecoms sector and has gained significant experience of the overall sale process. He graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2013, with a degree in Accounting and Finance BA (Hons) and joined Knight in December 2018, having previously qualified as a chartered accountant with a national firm.
Chris joined Knight in May 2019 from a Manchester-based Corporate Finance firm where he advised owner managers on the disposal of their businesses. Prior to this Chris worked for a North West boutique advising high growth technology and biotechnology companies on capital raises.
Nick joined Knight in February 2019 from the Restructuring Services department at Deloitte, where he worked on a number of corporate and creditor advisory engagements for underperforming businesses along with high profile insolvency cases. Whilst completing his Master’s degree at Warwick University, he also interned within the Private Wealth Management team at Kleinwort Benson.
Rupert leads the team in all aspects of the claim process. He has more than 17 years’ experience in R&D tax relief and credits, initially as a scientist in industry prior to spending over 9 years as an R&D Incentives specialist at one of the "Big 4" accounting firms.
Orb Capital is led by Joseph and mirrors the services and solutions of Knight except for non-TMT businesses. Orb has a particular focus on equity funding and raising new or restructuring existing debt facilities for clients with a typical deal size of £5m to £50m. Joseph has over 25 years experience in financial services across private equity and private credit. He has prior roles with Macquarie Bank’s Special Situations and Environmental Assets divisions, and Merrill Lynch’s M&A team. Joseph also worked with RAB Capital, investing in pre-IPO natural resources and renewables.
